E.J. Dojillo
aspiring writer
"THE ANOMALY"
“The Anomaly” is Erik’s first written fictional short story for his Creative Writing Class at Mt. SAC. It follows Randolph and his experiences surviving in a world that is undergoing a terrifying change.
➤ “The author has his readers on their toes by NOT saying what is out there killing humans, but instead, one must imagine what kind of dark force is out there” - E. Zavala
➤ “Dojillo’s story reminds me of the horror film Await Further Instructions” - L.A. Rosas
➤ “The author did an amazing job with his quick world-building and making his characters come to life” - S. Guerra
➤ “After reading the story, it makes me wanna know more about what the creature is and what it looks like, but I’ll have to wait on that!” - S. Segarra
➤ "[Dojillo's] story preserves a lot of suspense. [He's] raised the stakes for these characters to "survive," and because [he] keep[s] the threat as (mostly) an externalized mystery, the reader is left to wonder "what is it outside that is killing everyone?" and "will it get to Randolph and Destiny?" - A. Brown
THOSE WHO REMAIN
Those Who Remain revolves around an anthropomorphic wolf named August. His life begins to fall apart just as the apocalypse takes hold of the world.
"Drive"
"Drive" is a short story spin-off from Those Who Remain featuring two new characters, Kai and Theo. With the rapidly declining world, the need to return home was the forefront mission. The drive home is long; they only have each other to rely on; how else could they get back?
➤ "The dynamic between Kai and Theo drives the story forward, giving it an urgency and energy that matches the dangerous, post-apocalyptic setting. The use of anthropomorphic characters, particularly the tiger and lizard, adds an intriguing layer of originality, and the way their interactions mirror human behaviors and emotions keeps the story grounded despite its fantastical elements" - A. Brown

Someday...
It has not occurred to me that I could accept commissions in writing stories, particularly backstories and such. My best friend, Sean, did offer a gleaming concept. Maybe in the future, we'll see where I go from there (looks at pocket watch).
